Texas Local Guides

I’m trying to get an idea of how many Local Guides in Texas actually read these message boards.

I never, NEVER see anyone else from Texas and am trying to get a Regional or statewide “Meet Up” going for Dallas or Austin !! Hmu, mah dudes, dudettes, & every variation of the two between!

Great, @ThaRoost ! Meet-ups are a lot of fun.

Maybe you can find some Local Guides close to you in this Facebook group: Google Local Guides USA.

Good luck!

Plano, TX here. This is my first time on the forum. I was a bit surprised to see that there are no meet-ups here in the Dallas area.

Hey @ThaRoost ! Blue Bell Ice Cream (Brenham TX) here! Just recently got on the boards myself. I had to do a search for ‘Texas’ before I found some neighbors!

Hi @ThaRoost

Thank you for sharing this with us. If you want to meet other Local Guides and want to plan a tour of your region or any other place, I recommend organizing a meet-up. You can host your own meet-ups by planning it here.

Also have a look at this post How to Organize a Local Guides Meet-Up which gives you helpful ideas on the types of activities you can plan and some guidance and tips for helping you organize a successful event for yourself and the Local Guides in your area! You also can Join a meet-up in your area.

Since you are new in the community, I recommend you read this topic it suggests the various ways to engage as a part of the community.

I have been a Texas local guide for Wichita Falls, the surrounding state and local parks, and for River kayaking and fishing spots for around 6 years and I have never heard of meetups before!

Bonus, I am actually moving to Bastrop next week and I will be able to attend any Austin area future meetups! I can’t wait because I want to pick the brains of the locals and continue my nature and park guide posts as well as volunteer at said locations.

Hi @ThaRoost

You’re welcome. When responding to someone, be sure to tag them (by writing @ before their name) in your comment so they’ll receive a notification letting them know that you are trying to reach them.

If you ever have questions or just want to learn more about the Local Guides program, you can visit the Help Desk and How do I search on Connect? to find what others have already shared.

Have a nice day, I am waiting to see your new post telling us about your experience here.
