Tenoha: A Piece of Japan in Milan

Tenoha is a Japanese brand which arrived to Milan by proposing a big place divided into different parts:

  • a restaurant/bar where to eat authentic Japanese food or drink (it is especially good their ginseng coffee with Japanese macha)

  • a shop selling Japanese items of various kinds

  • an event venue

  • an area for co-working and private offices as well

It is a 360 degree venue for various purposes, which has only one thing as main point: showing a piece of Japan inside one of the most multicultural cities you can imagine.

Hello @user_not_found ,

This place looks very nice, thank you for sharing with us.

I like Japanese culture a lot and if I go to Milan, I would like to visit this place. Onigiri is one of my favorite dish, especially with tuna and the Onigiri from your photo looks super delicious. Do you like Onigiri?

@Ivi_Ge the place seems perfect for those who love Japanese culture, also because Tenoha brand is purely Japanese and as far as I have seen, they have opened only in Japan (their original stores) and in Milan. Have not seen any other Tenoha in other places in the world on Google Maps or on their website. Being this something notable, as Milan doesn’t even have a big Japanese community (we have very developed Chinese and Filipino communities instead). But yeah, I have realized Milan is maybe their first experience outside Japan.

Yes I like onigiri, but have also to ask in advance for no sauces as many restaurants in Italy put mayonnaise in it and in other Japanese food.

Thank you for your reply @user_not_found .

Japanese also put mayonnaise in some onigiri. My favorite is Ebi Mayo or Shrimp Mayonnaise and maybe I don’t like a lot Ume. This is a pickled plum and is very sour and salty. However Umeboshi is one of the most popular onigiri. Have you ever tried it?

@Ivi_Ge didn’t know this. Always believed adding mayonnaise was a Western variation. Never tried the variants with mayonnaise, I always ask without because I really don’t like mayonnaise. This is my little secret: I don’t like mayonnaise, don’t like ketchup, don’t even go crazy for fried chips. I am the worst nightmare customer for American fast food chains!
