As Kathmandu is known as the city of temples and gods, you can find a temple, stupa and gumba in every nooks and corner of the valley.
This one is Annapurna Ajima Temple located in Asan, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Hello @suresh1930
It’s beautiful and closely resembles Japanese Buddhist architecture🏯
Thank you so much @YasumiKikuchi . I read your post about photography technique and it is awesome. You are a great technical photographer. Surely I would love to meet if you ever happen to visit Kathmandu, Nepal.
Keep posting! Cheers!
Thank you so much @suresh1930
I have experience of traveling to Nepal and have a good impression of your country. I will contact you next time I visit📞
Great photo thanks for sharing!
The first thing that came to mind when I saw this temple was Japan so guess @YasumiKikuchi is right that they resemble each other a lot.
Is this temple different from others or does it serve a specific purpose?
Thanks @MortenSI
Every temple, gods, and idols give different faith and meaning to people. The above mentioned Ajima is related to grains, food, abundance, and prosperity as goddess Ajima literally means abundant food.
That’s fascinating @suresh1930 .
So am I right to assume that if people go to this specific temple, it is because they’re praying for food and prosperity?
I would rather say that people often visit this temple because they are thankful for the food and prosperity they already have.
That makes good sense @suresh1930 .
I suppose there are different temples for that symbolise different things.
Is there anything particular about the appearance of this temple, that makes it about food and prosperity?
Not any specific appearance symbolize food or prosperity of that I know. As I am not from that locality, so I guess I would have to research more about the meaning and value of temple in depth. Not much information is available on the web about the temple though.
As long as it’s commonly known by the locals, nothing else is needed @suresh1930 , and the temple is definitely beautiful.
Hi @suresh1930 ,
the photo of this temple is simply magnificent. But I would like to know more about him. How old is it?
@katydarhel Thanks!
I am not familiar with its age. Sorry about that.
Hello @katydarhel
Pleased to recognise your interest in the temple.
Created in the year 1893, the temple as now127 years old.
Hi @C_T ,
thanks for your reply. This temple is magnificent. No less interesting is its history. Well, 127 years is quite a lot.
