Tempe Tumpeng Festival
One form of gratitude for the people in parts of Indonesia to God is by holding alms for the earth or Ruwat.
Sedengan Mijen Village, Krian, Sidoarjo, East Java Indonesia has been carrying out the tradition of the Tempe Tumpeng Festival for two years, 2019 is the second year and usually on March or April for next year.
This giant Tempe Tumpeng is made with a size of almost 12 meters high with a diameter of almost 4 meters. Composed of cone-shaped tempe.
Tempe is one of the main products produced by the people of Sedengan Mijen Village, therefore it is used as the main cone.
The festival event was quite lively because of the active participation of the community. They also carry smaller sized cones which are also the product of their own production.
After being taken from the local village hall to the village square. The tumpeng will be divided and become a fight for residents.
