Tell us: what type of camera do you use?

Whether you’re snapping a wheelchair accessible ramp or a new store that just opened in your area, taking photos is such an important part of being a Local Guide. Today is National Camera Day in the U.S., and we want to celebrate by learning more about how you capture the world around you.

You don’t need any special equipment to share photos on Google Maps — just a smartphone. Some of the coolest photos on Maps are taken just with phones, and you can even use them to take amazing 360 photos (here’s how). But some Local Guides like to get their shots with other equipment too, like DSLR cameras, underwater cameras, drones, 360 cameras, and more. Are you one of them?

In the comments below, tell us what you use the snap your best photos. Whether you use a smartphone, point-and-shoot camera, Street View-ready camera, or other equipment, tell us what kind and link to your favorite photo contribution on Maps that you’ve taken with it.

To see how some of your fellow Local Guides get their favorite shots, check out our new series on YouTube, Photo Journey.

Hey @kmajewski

I have been a Motorola fan! So been using Moto G4+, MotoG5+, and currently using Moto G6!

I also have a Canon 450D with 18-55mm, and a 50 mm prime. Planning to buy a wide angle len soon.

Some of my recent fav photos are

I am using my Galaxy Note 8 and I have been able to (when I “focus” on what I am doing) get some amazing images for which I have gotten a myriad of likes out in the wild Socials and kudos here on Connect.

I just got a belated Birthday present. It is a SONY DSC-RX100M6 and just started to learn how to use it.

I have friends who use Pixels and I love the results they are getting. Hence, I joined the G+ Pixel Community.

I am also deciding between a mirrorless, (which I am experienced with) and a DSLR

If anyone has pros and cons feedback on either genre; please share.

I mainly use my iPhone 6 & Nexus 5 to upload photos to maps.

I’m using iPhone 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. recently I bought samsung gear 360 (2017) but can’t use it coz it doesn’t support my mobiles both of them.
