Teen Dasiyon Ka Mahal, Orchha.

Teen Dasiyon Ka Mahal, Orchha Fort, Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India.

In Orchha Fort there are many architectural remains located which are almost beyond the reach of tourists. One such secular palace is known as Teen Dasiyon Ka Mahal which is located after Shahi Darwaza in the Northern side.

It’s a double storeyed elegant structure and it was built on a square plan. Probably it was built in the 17th century.
The remains of this palace reflect its attractive Bundela style. Its square courtyard has rectangular verandahs on both sides, their vaulted roofs are supported by archways and thick walls which are plastered and decorated with arched niches and blind arches. Verandahs roofs were built with decorated parapet and domed square rooms The eaves are decorated with red sandstone borders. Square rooms built on the four corners on the first floor are adorned with fluted domes on octagonal base. Its one corner’s dome and the ground floor room has almost vanished. Probably this palace might be built with an entrance gate and security arrangements as it was specifically built as a residence of some special Royal maids may be three in numbers so known as Teen Dasiyon Ka Mahal.
It seems that most of the monuments and fort is managed by MP Tourism Corporation not by the ASI that’s why no care.
