#TeamBelarus, Buhava village is one remote corner of Belarus

Good afternoon, dear local guides !!!

I haven’t written anything for a long time. Today I want to share a trip to one remote corner of Belarus, to its very north, namely to Bukhava village, Rasony district, Viciebsk region. This is a very secluded place, devoid of all the benefits of civilization. You can forget about high-speed Internet here. Even mobile network is hardly available. It is hardly a populated, but rather dying village. There are very few indigenous people in Bukhava. Huts are mainly occupied by summer residents from Russia, who spend their summers here. The Rasony district, like the entire Viciebsk region, belongs to the territory of the Belarusian Paazer’e (Lake district). This is the place where the glacier left numerous lakes and lowlands. In addition, Rasony district is the most ?forested district of Belarus.

I also want to add that the Rasony district (together with the Połack district, Sebezh district, Nevel district) is one of the ?centers of Belarusian folklore and mysticism. This region is as mystical as Poltava thanks to the creation of Nikolai Gogol and his famous collection of stories ‘Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka’; like the Ural Mountains thanks to the creation of Pavel Bazhov and his collection of tales ‘Malachite Box’. This is how this land was seen by Jan Barščeŭski and described in his collection of fantastic stories ‘Nobleman Zawalnia, or Belarus in Fantastic Stories’. It seems that silvans, Kings of snakes, werewolves still live in these forests, fiery spirits wander. Mermen, scary monsters swim in lakes and rivers, a magical žaber-grass grows, capable of predicting the future. Dragons fly in the sky and the agile White Magpie able to turn into a beautiful woman.

But seriously Bukhava (like the whole Rasony district) is perfect for tourists who isable to live in a :circus_tent: tent. There are excellent conditions for fishing. In addition, no license is needed. (Fishing prohibited during spawning.) In rivers and lakes there are pike, bream, dace, chub, roach. Bears, wolves, wild boars, moose, roe deer, deer, and bison live in the forests. In summer and autumn, you can pick berries and mushrooms. Well, in addition to the tent, you can stay in the farmsteads ‘Krolova Khata’ and ‘Bobrovaya Khata’.

I spent a day in Bukhava village, visiting my aunt and uncle. In the evening I managed to take a photo walk. Village dogs barked at me with might and main. But I wasn’t afraid of them. The weather was wonderful. It was the beginning of autumn. Although it was still pretty green, yellowness was breaking out in some places. It was drizzling and a ?rainbow appeared in the sky.

In the morning I went deep into the forest. I reached the spill of the Drysa river.

And you can only imagine !!! I came across a fresh trail of wild boar !!! What a tremendous speed I was returning home !!! Well, the path to the forest is indicated by such a small architectural form.

I left these places with an incredible sense of calm, tranquility, leaving as a keepsake these wonderful photos.

Hi. Wonderful post. Beautiful nature. Nice village. I was in the village recently, too. Here’s a photo. What’s your temperature? I thought it was cold in Belarus now.

It’s cold in Russia. Rarely the temperature is 0 degrees.

Thanks for the post.

What’s the weather like? Show your village.

@Austinelewex @Ant_Bad_Yogi

What’s your temperature? Do you have a village?

@katydarhel I’m so happy to see your post here again! It’s a real joy for me, as each of them is a small masterpiece. There are very beautiful places on your photos, which are worth to be seen of course. The photo with rainbow is great.

Is it Lake Optino in your photos?

Thank you for mentioning Nobleman Zawalnia fantastic stories, I didn’t think they are related to some concrete location, it’s very interesting fact.

@katydarhel This place is so beautiful. I would love to visit it but the problem is I’m a bit afraid of dogs, hahaha. I think I can stay in a farmstead, I don’t like sleeping in a tent. :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you for sharing this beautiful post with us.

@user_not_found In Thailand, here the day temperature is 32 degrees Celsius. It’s hot around 3 PM.

Thank you very much @OlgaKlimchik for the kind words. I also really like reading your posts. It is especially nice to read about the places that I know. And there is a sense that we are, we exist, and our community represents a certain force. Unfortunately, this isn’t Optino Lake. As far as I know, Lake Optino is located in Russia, in the Kaluga region. I am very happy that you, like me, are a fan of the work of Jan Barščeŭski. His biography is connected with the village of Murahi and Lake Neščarda. And the whole district was described in the stories of visiting travelers.

Dear @IshantHP_ig ,

my break was due to the fact that in my native Belarus there was cloudy and gloomy weather. And there was no inspiration and material to write something. But I’m glad you missed.

My appearance was due to the fact that my phone ran out of internal memory and I was forced to do an audit and stumbled upon these wonderful photos.

Thanks for the great review of my post.

For me, it is interesting to compare my village with the village in your state. After all, these are absolutely different climatic zones. What is common between villages?

And it’s also very interesting to know what new things have come up in #TeamIndia during this time?

Hi @MukulR ,
thank you for your comment. Yes, you are absolutely right, the village is almost deserted, so I didn’t capture anyone in the photo.
