Tea Gardens, Sunrise and Rejuvenating Vacations

Everyone has different expectations from life and I am no different. Expectations change with age and experiences. In my twenties, thirties and forties, going on vacations means to plan for activities for whole stay, which may include all sight seeing “points”, some shopping and eating. But now well into my late fifties, my style of vacationing has changed and now relaxation and rejuvenation is of prime importance to me.

I was looking for a place amidst nature and big enough to make me happy being there. Munnar, in the state of Kerala in India is one such place on my radar for sometime now. We (me and RB, my husband) finalized Dreamcatcher Plantation Resort, which has a large property of 20+acres having tea and spice garden. It’s a complete package with enough activities.

The indoor activities like table tennis, carrom board, swings and relaxing sofas were made available to guests on the top floor. Swimming pool and spa is also open for most of the time of the day. There is a watch tower, which is stratagically placed so well that one can see the entire estate. The watch tower is connected with the main building with a hanging bridge.

We both are amateur photographers and had sufficient opportunities to click.

I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The package includes breakfast and dinner. One can have alacarte lunch too. All the rooms have nice views. It also has tree houses. The resort has it’s own generator to save guests from any inconvenience due to any power cuts . The staff is very nice and were always serving with patience and smile.

This is the place, where no alarm is needed to wake up. Chirping of birds is your alarm.

  1. If you want to refresh, rejuvenate and relax, this is the place to go.

It looks really nice @Neerja_Bhatnagar , and sounds like the perfect place to clear you mind and relax!

Even though I’m still in my twenties I love a relaxing holiday. Don’t get me wrong, I also love exploring and to soak up new culture, but once in a while I just need that complete relaxation.

I wrote a post about a remote weekend trip a while back if you’d like to read it - A weekend getaway in the Balkan mountains.
