Tanguar Haor, nestled in the Sunamganj district of Bangladesh, is a surreal destination that comes alive in the rainy season (June to September). I had the chance to visit this natural wonder recently, and it was one of the most refreshing and soul-soothing experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Monsoon transforms Tanguar Haor into an endless stretch of serene water dotted with floating vegetation, villages on stilts, and endless skies. The calm, glass-like water reflects the clouds and surrounding greenery so perfectly that it feels like you’re sailing through a dream.
The beauty of Haor in the rain is unmatched — boats gently gliding across the water, dark clouds rolling in over green paddy fields, and flocks of migratory birds flying overhead. If you love nature, peace, and off-the-grid adventures, this is your season!
