Hello, my friends!
As promised here is the post of the restaurant I went to a couple of days ago. I did not know for certain but there are several culinary options in Ica. This city is well known for dishes such as Seco de Cordero (dried lamb) or Carapulcra with dry soup. The flag drink is chicha de jora and the most popular dessert is the pecans, chocolate and orange tiles. Chicha de Jora is a fermented drink from South America, particularly widespread in Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. It has different varieties depending on the region but its preparation is mainly composed of the “jora”, that is, malted corn. Seco de Cordero (dry lamb) is a typical stew of Peruvian gastronomy. It is served with rice and a sauce of chili, huacatay, lemon, among other ingredients.
When we visited the Tacama vineyard we were somewhat worried because we didn’t know where to have lunch. The vineyard is logically located in a rural place with limited access. However, it was a pleasant surprise to know that the vineyard has its own restaurant, called El Tambo de Tacama. Excellent attention, despite the fact that the place was full at a certain time. We order chicha for girls and a Carmenere wine for us. We ordered Creole tamales, which were spectacular, they usually come with chicken or pork inside, the dressing is a must, very tasty. Second, we order dried lamb with mashed potatoes. Delicious meat, of those that break down and separate from the bone with ease. Combined with wine … simply fantastic. In short, we had a wonderful time, delicious food, excellent service and a show that we loved from beginning to end. We were lucky because the day was great, clear sky, bright sun, light breeze. What more could you ask for?
Hugs,
Marco … from PERU!
P.D: a few more pictures that I hope you will enjoy!
