Tale of Two States: Part One

Ever experience Serendipity?

I recently experienced something I’d like to call Happy Coincidences. These coincidences were a prominent part of my journey which is the reason why I’m sharing my story with you. But before you indulge yourself, let me tell you that this post is the first part of my travel saga. The story of a Road Trip to Two States.

Background: In the recent past we relocated from New Jersey to Sunshine city, St. Petersburg, Florida. The city is known for its beautiful sunny weather thus nicknamed ‘The Sunshine City’. Since we recently relocated to St Pete, we had no one to celebrate Thanksgiving with. A day before Thanksgiving, my husband suggested we go for a small vacation. I didn’t have a better response but to Say yes. Without having to inquire anything we simply packed our bags! “It’s gonna be a road trip to Atlanta, GA and farther up to Chattanooga TN”-he uttered.

All Fueled up (us and the car) Gadgets charged, Seat belts secured, and off we went! As…

Anecdote: …we left Palm trees behind, Golden and Yellow Crisp leaves seemed to welcome us everywhere we went. The noteworthy November weather was propelling shivers n chills intermittently, however, a surprise was coming our way uninformed. You probably have imagined it by now! Have you?

Most Advantageously, the roads were excellently prettified with Red, Orange, Golden hues. We couldn’t believe our eyes. Our not-so-planned-trip was raising its standard by leaps and bounds along with a happy phenomenon and I was dancing with joy because after leaving NewJersey I didn’t expect to see fall foliage anytime soon.

That said, we arrived at The Olympic Centennial Park located at Downtown Atlanta, GA and it was equipped with oodles of Maple Trees and vibrant colors. The striking Golden Yellow Orange and Red hues oozing of the trees were scattered all over like a color palette.

For an artist like me, it felt similar to an enormous canvas painted in Natural Colors of Fall Foliage.

Here’s another glimpse of Fall -

This park(free to visit) is dedicated to the Olympic games and has a lot to offer. In fact, The beauty of a Bronze Arch Statue inspired me for my next Acrylic painting.

@BorrisS have a look at my Latest Acrylic Painting. Hope you like it. The one with Flamingo is gonna be next.

Skyview Atlanta was next in line, a Ferris Wheel (180 foot) in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, GA with weatherproof Gandolas provides a spectacular scenic view from the top. Skyview Atlanta is way shorter than the 450-foot high London Eye.

Fun fact - This Ferris wheel was originally used in Paris and later transported to Atlanta in 2013.

The following day was dedicated to The World of Coca-Cola, the story of the world’s most famous beverage. Most importantly, their secret formula is kept safe here. This place is a one of a kind experience.

From the tasting of 100 exotic flavors from all over the world to the movie celebrating life with tiny moments of happiness parting us in happy tears, from the amazing hospitality of the staff members making every effort to smear happiness and festivity through music to the selfies with the adorable Polar Bear, all this did nothing but bombarded my phone gallery with tons of pictures and videos.

If you’re ever in Atlanta, you must visit downtown. I have this Public List saved in Google Maps, notifying where we stayed, what major attractions did we cover during our road trip.

Besides, other attractions in the downtown are CNN Studio Tours, Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Georgia-Aquarium. Do you know what’s more exciting though? All these destinations are only a few steps away from each other.

But the Tale isn’t over yet. Rest of happy occurrences…

To be continued…

@ReemaGandhi , this is awesome. Can’t wait to read Episode 2.

What kind of phone do you use? I have never been to Atlanta or Georgia itself, but it is on my US City bucket list. I have friends who have moved there from California for work. They like the Peachtree area.

I can tell you my fellow Connect Moderator @ErmesT actually lived in Macon. Georgia. It’s very funny to hear an Italian speak with a Southern accent. His draw comes out when he speaks about his time living in the South.

Cheers,

Karen

Great post @ReemaGandhi , thank you for sharing.

Yes, what @KarenVChin said is true, I lived in Macon (GA) for more than one year, and I went back home just a few days before the Olympics, on July 1996.

Have you visited the underground of Atlanta? I love it, and I mostly loved Stone Mountain Park. On July 4 in fully crowded of people. Nice

In Macon you can find some interesting park too, Karen. The most interesting is probably Ocmulgee National Monument, where they found some Native American ceremonial earth mounds

Can’t wait for part two

Thank you so much. @KarenVChin Glad, you like reading the post.

I use iPhone XR for all my photographs. Was absolutely unaware of the beauty in Atlanta until I experienced it myself.

In fact, GA is all about PeachTree be it Peachtree Road, Peachtree Boulevard or Peachtree city.

I appreciate your comment.

My first halt was in Valdosta, GA and I notice its about 2 hrs from where you’ve lived.

Didn’t get a chance to visit Underground Atlanta, probably next time.

As far as the painting is concerned, I know that I will repeat myself, but really I have to congratulate you. I love these warm colors. Have you ever studied painting or it’s a native skill that you have?

PS: would love to see the final result of the painting.
