If you’re like me, you enjoy traveling, and when you’re traveling, you’re probably staying at a hotel. In this post, I’ll share my best tips to take stunning hotel images. While we may be “grounded” from traveling by current issues, we can use this down time to brush up on our photography skills.

Hotel rooms are often lit for comfort rather than photos. Often they are much darker than would be ideal for photos. There are several ways to solve this problem.
First, and probably the most simple option is adding more light. Consider opening drapes which may be covering windows. Using a flash which bounces off the ceiling is also a easy option.
(Natural light from the tall windows in this lobby makes the room seem more airy and welcoming)
The second option is more artistic and does require a bit more thought. For rooms that don’t have much natural light or places you are photographing at night, make the light source your subject. This makes it easier for you to get a decent exposure in the room and also allows for some creative images.
