Taj Mahal - A Pure Vision

Till 11th November 2019, I just saw this massively beautiful structure on television, YouTube or in Magazines. On that day, I really had it into my vision and my camera. Finally, I got a shot.

I went to New Delhi to attend a wedding of one of my relatives. Suddenly, in the night, My family planned to visit Agra, specifically to see the Taj Mahal. I got excited, packed my camera and stuff and booked a cab for the next morning.

.

11th November, 2019:

We sat into an Innova and left the house at 8 am in the morning. We raced through the connecting highway road between Delhi and Agra, enjoying the scenic view of the infrastructure of Delhi.

We took a break for washrooms in the middle on a gas station. We entered Agra at about 10 am, and after the duration of half hour we reached to the point from which we had to board an E-Rickshaw or we can can walk to the Taj Mahal.

But first, for the breakfast, we had this amazing Puri-Aloo-Chole at a snack corner known as Agra Puri Bhandar .

It was really delicious.

When we asked the owner of the snack corner for the Taj Mahal, he told us that either we can walk through the street till the entrance or we can take a rickshaw. FYI, the rickshaw charge Rs. 20-30 INR per person for taking it to the entrance of Taj Mahal. We sat in a rickshaw and I clicked some street shots while we reach to the entrance.

At the entrance, we bought tickets to enter inside, FYI, the ticket charges are Rs. 50 per person to visit the outer area of the Taj Mahal and Rs. 250 per person, if you have to visit inside the Taj Mahal.

At one point, you have to put down your shoes and have to walk barefoot through the perimeter of the structure or you have an option to buy a shoe cover which allows you to cover your shoes from the bottom and walk.

There were so many people including visitors from the outer country and the locals. The people talking about it’s beauty doesn’t lie, it is indeed marvelous.

Me and my family felt so amazed and good after seeing the majestic beauty.

For a long time , I had a shot in mind regarding this place and finally I got that photograph in my travel collection.

One thing I noticed after looking at the building in real, which never noticed in the pictures. The centre dome of the Taj Mahal has Muslim signature at the top of it.

I had so much fun and I really to visit here again on some cloudy day. The pictures with the cloudy sky will be great.

Till then, Happy Guiding!

Merry Christmas to all the members of the Local Guides Community!

Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s absolutely stunning and your photos really showcase the beauty of Taj Mahal. It’s definitely a must-see wonder. How many hours did you explore? The building is just so beautiful. Do you photograph a lot? You’ve got a great eye.

Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello @DrunkenChimp

That’s an impressive story.

I have one curiosity.

How did you capture the image of Taj keeping out the two minarets at the back?

I am aware there is scaffolding to one of the minarets affecting the elegance.

Hii @DanniS
Greetings!

Thank You very much for the compliments. I didn’t photograph a lot because this time I only spent 1 and half hour and most of the time went down being amazed by the structural beauty completing the round of its perimeter. I would like be there again in 2020, let’s see, if it become possible!

Hey @C_T

Thank You!

I think you are talking about the image which I captured while I was under a roof where the shoes were being kept. I tried to set a side angle in which minarets of both, white and red buildings, can be covered.

Thanks for asking!

No, that feedback was regarding the cover image (The one appearing at the top) @DrunkenChimp

Oh!

@C_T , I captured it on a wide 24 mm with a ground angle, the structure is so symmetrically developed, that the minarets at the back automatically appears to be hidden behind the centre structure.
And believe me, I didn’t use Photoshop to remove them, because I don’t manipulate my images. A shot through a wide angle lens can create this type of perspective.

I think you are passionate about photography, that’s very good!

Yes you are right @DrunkenChimp

I viewed the monument through Google earth. There are many 3D views clicked at various spots. When one stands on the platform & then clicks, the minaret at the back is hidden by the central structure as stated by you correctly.
Thanks for your compliments. However, liking for photography got developed after actively joining in the LG program. Nevertheless, accurately understanding 3D objects through 2D projections had been an essential part of my vocation.
