Taganay is the most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide. 5th september 2019 I came back from Taganay. I spent three days there and I walked around 60km. This is actually my second expedition to Taganay in my life. First expedition was on 12-14 July, 2019. In those days me and my friends have been really lucky in terms of swamps, especially me because I used only sneaker. In September 2019, there was nothing to do without rubber boots, water runs out from under each stone, there was a lot of swamps.
I passed all the peaks, except for Itzyl (in Russ’an transcription Итцыл). I was on The Three brothers Mountain and on a weather station. I didn’t go to Itzyl related to the fact that there’s nothing special to do there. Itzyl is not the farthest point as that young lady told us, the farthest one is the weather station.
For going to Karabash, I recommend you to wear marsh boots and definitely not go alone because the roads are overgrown.
The steepest peak is the weather station - you can see the entire valley along it, Miass and Karabash with the Argazian air defense. Cranberries and blueberries whole fields grow. It’s a pity that you can’t put up a tent there.
Karabash is not a crowded place but I think that probably it is better like that.
In general, if you go there next time, then go from Miass from the turgoyak, there are cool parking places on this side where there is a dry stove, then go out to the Koalim cordon, climb the weather station for a day and eat more cranberries.
