Szechenyi Suspension Bridge on River Danube in Budapest

The Szechenyi Chain Bridge is an iconic 19th century stone suspension bridge that spans the Danube river in Budapest. This is the capital of Hungary made of two major parts Buda and Pest. The Danube river interestingly flows through as many as 10 countries in Europe and is the second-longest river in Europe after the River Volga in Russia.

This is a very beautiful bridge and I first saw it from the edges of the Buda Castle which is located on the banks of the Danube river. I was carrying binoculars and my friend and host helped me to zoom on to the Lion figures installed on the bridge on both sides. I also did not miss the separate lanes for vehicles and pedestrians.

The tourist guide informed that the Szechenyi Chain Bridge in Budapest has been the setting for many films such as ‘I Spy’ and ‘An American Rhapsody’ from 2001. I found this bridge to be the most beautiful in Budapest. The Szechenyi Chain Bridge, River Danube, and the mesmerizing views from the Buda Castle are all amazing. At night, the bridge is also is lit up, and walking on it in the company of my friend and host after dinner gave a feeling that was unique to Budapest.
