Susunia, One of the well known hills of Choto Nagpur Plato, is located at Bankura District in West Bengal, India. When People from Bengal, discuss about the hills of Purulia and Bankura District, 2 names comes out from everyone’s mouth - Ajodhya and Susunia hill.
Hi @ayanghosh_22 thanks for sharing this lovely view. Can you tell us why these hills are so well known? What do people do here? Why do they go here?
Hi @PaulPavlinovich this place is know as one of the tourst spots in Bankura district. There is small temple on the top of the hill, people use to come here for picnic and trek to the top to see the temple and enjoy the amazing view from the top.
Atart from that, this place is mostly known for rock climbing. High exposure of the rocks encourages the rock climbers. Every year during the winter season, from november to ferbruary, the registered organizations of West Bengal arrange basic rock climbing camps for training.
That is awesome @ayanghosh_22 I’m into abseiling (rappelling) down rocks - I’m too old and fat to climb them :).
Sounds like a great place with good activities and good views.
@PaulPavlinovich I also love to do rappelling. I go to this place twice every year. Let me show you one of the biggese rappelling faces of this hill. It’s near about 100 ft long

That is an awesome rappel @ayanghosh_22 - a nice challenging surface. Here is one of my favourites. Tallarook State Forest / Warrigul Rocks. It is about 35 metres so about the same as yours. You can take another jump from this point to go down another 70m but there is no easy way back up. From this ledge you can walk back to the top.
Wowwwwww… @PaulPavlinovich where is this place… I would love to rappel here. Very much challenging but it will be great to enjoy rappelling on this surface
