I believe there may be a problem with the points system.
I have a strong suspicion that place Edits, which should be earning 5 points per Edit, are incorrectly being treated as and going into Answers and thus only earn 1 point per answer.

Sometimes points take some more time to update on your dash board please be patient. Sure they will be update shortly. Sometimes points for the videos may take longer time to update. Don’t feel bad about this. Hope you will realize in sometime. By the way keep up the good work as a volunteer.

Thank for your reply @kasunaaa but you may have misunderstood the issue I have raised. The points are not missing it’s that they are being incorrectly classified/allocated. Please re-read my first post above.

@AdamGT according to my knowledge edits can done in two ways. Onetimes we suggest a edit from the options of a place. In that case we may change existing information such as location, website and telphone. Those may treated as a edit. Othertimes we may checking the facts, uncovering missing information or answering yes no questions and those actions more or less similar to a edit. In that cases those may treated as a answer.
Adam is absolutely right.
I don’t get additional points for edits and added places about the last two weeks but one or two single points for answers a day that I did not give. There are about 800 points missing that way.
If You compare Local Guides Connect Home Summary with Summary of ‘My contributions’ there is a lack of about 8000 points. I got the google mails about the changes.
Sometimes edits were rejected according to the edit list BUT the changes are made and there is that green status line that the edit is approved and published.
Anyway, I got the points for Q&As, reviews and fact check.
@kasunaaa with respect, I once again suggest that you read my initial post again and carefully as I have been talking about place Edits and not Check the facts. Select any POI on mobile and then select “Suggest an edit”.
That’s precisely the situation @OkerJoker , points are appearing for Answers that you are not giving yet your points for Edits remain unchanged. I have noticed this going on for about a month now so I decided to do some testing to confirm my suspicion. Hopefully there is a Googler listening or a mod that could escalate this!
@PaulPavlinovich @ErmesT may I ask you how does one call for a mod or Googler to look into this or is the fact that I’ve posted the issue enough!
@AdamGT this is the only report I’ve seen of this behaviour but I will raise it in the moderator forum so that a Googler will look.

This was I tried to explain and I agree with you that there is a problem with getting points for the same contribution at different times.
@OkerJoker while I can translate the text I can’t translate the screenshot. Can you elaborate what we’re looking at? Is it related to this problem reported by AdamGT?

I have added a place (= Ortserstellung). Some days later I’ ve got a message in ‘my contributions’ that the edit was rejected (= nicht übernommen). But when I look at the address on Google Maps there is a marker and the message that the edit is confirmed (Alles in Ordnung! Deine Bearbeitung ist jetzt live = Success! Your edit is live.).
But no points at all.
Easy to understand.

- in My Contributions it says “rejected”
- you’ve had an email to say it was applied
- the place is on the Map
- you did not get any points
Can you please confirm this and give me a link to the place on Maps that has been added?

I’m not sure if I got an email.
I was looking for that ‘rejected’ place on the map and there it was. With a success message in the POIs details (look at the picture). This behaviour occurred with a few places added.
In the meantime the counter has been corrected.
This could happen if more than one Local Guide added the same place before it was approved. The first person who adds it gets applied and the subsequent gets rejected. That sounds like what might have happened here.
The other thing that can happen is if you add a place which really does exist but isn’t visible unless you search for that specific place or was visible but has been made private for whatever reason.
Can you share a link to the place like I asked in my last response so I can escalate and have its history checked?
Thank you once again @kasunaaa but the link you gave has absolutely nothing to do with the isue that I raised and that which @PaulPavlinovich is investigating. Once again I state that my suspicion is that place Edits, which should be earning 5 points per Edit are incorrectly being treated as and going into Answers which earn 1 point per answer.

Привет. Я с самого начала увидел, что есть проблемы с начислением. Потом просто надоело считать, тем более чем больше балов тем больше ждать обновления статистики.
Just for clarity @AdamGT I escalated the problem to the Googlers. I don’t have access to that data to investigate myself :).
