Surfing in northern California

Surfing in Northern California is a blast, but the water is not so warm generally speaking. It’s advisable to wear at least a 4 mm thick wetsuit with booties and sometimes gloves. The Cold water is a good thing because it keeps a lot of people away and makes things not so crowded at the beach. It’s probably a good idea to bring your own rents off water because many of the surf spots do not have showers.
