The Surali Vadi roll सुरळीची वडी is a light-spicy delicacy prominently made in Maharashtra in India
Ingredients
Gram flour.
Dahi - Sour Curd, not the same as yogurt.
Chilli powder.
Jeera - Collin Seeds.
Mohari - Mustard Seeds.
Oil.
Ginger-Garlic paste.
Recipe
Soak one portion of gram flour with an equal amount of curd and double amount of water.
Add required amount of salt and chilly powder.
Make a thick paste by mixing with the ginger-garlic paste.
Spread it on a plain surface like inside a dish.
Make slices using a serrated knife.
Sprinkle shredded coconut, collin seeds, and mustard seeds over it.
Apply oil on the surface to avoid sticking to hand and self-sticking.
Make it into a roll and then again spread the ingredients in the last step and additionally coriander for taste and decoration.
Ready to serve.
Give this recipe a try and let me know how you find the taste.
Until then… Happy guiding

@Tushar_Suradkar this looks great, very nicely demonstrated steps and pictures
I love the shredded coconut on it,
Here we call it Khandvi it is very popular snack in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Here’s the one made by me few weeks back ?

Thanks, @FalguniP for chiming in - the most celebrated ‘Food and Drinks’ writer in the community commenting is a huge thing for me
There is rarely a dish that is not common to or not enjoyed with equal taste in either Maharashtra or Gujarat.
Surali Vadi or Khandvi is one of them.
The shredded coconut along with the Jeera seeds gives it a crisp+soft chewy effect and without which it would be all soft-soft.
I note that you’ve added Til - sesame seeds as well, I am going to try that next time.

@TusharSuradkar no no I am just a normal person just very passionate about food which I love to share…
Yes if we see there is a lot of similarity in our food.
I like to give tadka of sesame seeds and mustard, curry leaves and chopped green chillies I skipped the coconut as it was not available or else coconut is must
I will try Jeera tadka next time !
