[Sagor Enterprise, inside view]
During the lockdown period caused by COVID-19, many small businesses suffered as they were closed for more than 4 months. In the new normal, after the lockdown, they have opened the business and struggling to survive. I have decided to write about some small businesses in my area or where ever I go to promote their business by providing some vital information about them in my writing.
[Selling face masks for Covid-19]
Sagar Enterprise is really a very small grocery shop at the southern end of the village Chapri, Tangail, Bangladesh. Various kinds of grocery items are sold here to the villagers at a reasonable price. Soap, oil, sugar, salt, dal, biscuits, tea packet, chips, chewing gum, eggs, spices, tooth-paste & brush, toilet tissue, and many more items. You can also get various kinds of soft drinks ad energy drinks here. During the Eid vacation, this shop buys new items and sells more to the customers.
[Some snacks]
During the pandemic, this shop got closed for months and faced a huge loss. The police came twice a day to this area and it was impossible for the shop keepers to keep the shop open. Due to the fear of the police, customers also did not come out of their homes to buy anything. So, the owner of this shop became very disappointed and hopeless to restart the business again. He was eagerly waiting for the governmentâs decision to lift the lockdown off. And he made a plan to sell a new item to recover the loss caused by the pandemic.
[Liquid Petroleum Gas Cylinders]
Once the lockdown was lifted-off by the government Sagor Enterprise opens again with a new hope to survive. As per the plan, the shopkeeper started selling the LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) Cylinder to the villagers. Before the lockdown, the villagers bought the LPG Cylinders from Chapri Bazar, almost one kilometer away. But after this shop starts selling the cylinders, it starts getting new customers. For selling the LPG, the shop keeper invested a few as he took the cylinders from the company in credit and pays after selling. He also started selling petrol to the bikers after the lockdown. These two items gave him customers for some of the other items also. For the safety of the villagers, he started selling face masks. The loss he faced during the pandemic may not recover ever, but these new items gave him a new way to fight the pandemic to survive.
