Supporting small business: Part 1

[The front view of Shohag General Store]

During the lockdown period caused by COVID-19, many small businesses suffered as they were closed for more than 4 months. In the new normal, after the lockdown, they have opened the business and struggling to survive. I have decided to write on some small businesses in my area or where ever I go to promote their business by providing some vital information about them in my writing.

[The owner of Shohag General Store]

Shohag General Store:

This is a small grocery shop in Kazipara area. You will get various kinds of grocery items here you need every day. Foods, some bakeries, Spices, toiletries, baby items, etc. During the lockdown, this shop was closed for months and faced a huge loss. Sometimes I found this shop open very secretly in fear of police. Now it is open and trying to survive. The loss it faced during the lockdown is uncoverable though, but the owner trying his best to overcome it.

The shop keeper became very happy when he heard about my plan to write on his store. He told me that he has never faced such a huge loss ever since he started this shop here. He is optimistic about the future and he believes that’s things will be OK again soon.

I did the review by myself whenever I visited any small businesses or add them on the map, maybe I should talk to them first before writing reviews @MukulR

@MukulR Great job from you to support small businesses! It’s so nice that we hadn’t any lockdowns for all period of epidemy. All was allowed to work. Shops, companies, fitness clubs, theatres, schools, kindergatens… Someone worked distantly, but not all of course. We were frightened first and not all could agree with this solution, but now I see, it was right. Our businesses can live, though many had to close their enterprises because of little number of clients. People prefer to stay at home and not to go to cafe for example. Noone will go shopping without need. I see a lot of cafes, tourists organisations, small shops which close their doors every day. But what if all of them were additionally closed to quarantine? I am not sure our country would be able to stay alive in such situation.

The situation was fully the opposite in Bangladesh @OlgaKlimchik Everything was closed. From small to big every business, offices, parks everything was closed. Even now educational institutions are closed in our for almost one year. Though the government is thinking not to impose lockdown anymore, but no one can predict anything right. I guess another short time lockdown may come again. The problem is that people in our country are not aware very much of health measures this may worsen our pandemic situation at any time. Anyway, be careful when you go outside to the office or shopping. Stay well. Regards.
