Last year i visited Sundarban, Bangladesh, the largest mangrove forest in the world with my colleagues and few foreign guests from Sri Lanka. Our journey started from Kamlapur Railway station, Dhaka. All the tickets were booked by our travel agent. Our journey started from Dhaka around 7;30 PM and we reached Khulna at 6:00 a.m in the morning of the next day. It took around 11:00 hour. From Khulna railway station we walked for 5/10 minutes distance to reach the river where our boat was ready to carry us for our main cruise. After 15 minutes we reached at our main cruise. It was enough luxurious cruise for 21 people with five cruise members.
Our Sundarban Tour started from Mongla, another port in Bangladesh. Scenery around the river is awesome. As much we enter into the jungle and deep of the river and near at the Sea (Bay of Bengal), it became more interested to us.
We stayed on the cruise for 2 days and nights, we visited almost all of the famous areas around Sundarban. Unfortunately we could not find any tiger but got some foot print of tigers which was mentioned by our forest guide. We have seen Deer,wild pig, monkey and lots of birds. If you want to see birds you have to move on very early morning by boat but keep it mind engine must be turned off while you are moving to see birds otherwise birds will go away by hearing the sound of engine. Most of the boatman are expert and they will show you the bird and they know it better how to move.
