Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well!
The main photo in this post truly captures the excitement I feel when summer approaches in the eastern U.S. People go out more, clothing is lighter, and the vibe just relaxes a bit, which I honestly really like! Sometimes winter seems to last longer than necessary, and that only increases the anticipation for warm, sunny days.
Plus, as a Local Guide, I’m thrilled about summer because outdoor photos turn out incredible with bright, natural light.
One of my favorite things about summer in New Jersey, U.S. (where I live) is the number of concerts organized by various townships, most of which are free! All you have to do is keep an eye on the dates and search Google Maps for event locations. One in particular that I enjoy is organized by the Township of Brick. It’s called Brick Summerfest. During the four weeks of July, starting the day before the 4th, they offer free concerts for residents and non-residents alike at Windward Beach Park. Windward Beach Park It’s a very nice, accessible place with sports fields, playgrounds
, and direct access to the beach
You can bring whatever makes you feel comfortable: chairs, coolers, blankets, games, etc.
The festival offers a little bit of everything: food trucks , ice cream
, and an adult area (in case you want a beer
). The concerts start early, around 4 p.m., with an all-star band playing from around 7 p.m. The curtain closes, and the night ends (around 9 p.m.) with fireworks.
There are many more free and affordable summer activities in several NJ townships that I really like, and they will be part of this short series of future posts.
I hope you enjoy them!
