Suggestion: Add U-Turns / Median Gaps on Indian National Highways from Google’s End

Dear @moderators

I would like to suggest that Google Maps consider proactively adding U-turns or gaps in the median along National Highways in India from your side, as part of the base map data.

In India, these median breaks are critical for vehicle movement, but their absence on the map often results in:

  • Users manually drawing short connector roads to represent the gap, which leads to clutter and confusion.
  • Incorrectly labeling these as local/internal roads.
  • Wrong direction flow being picked up by the system.
  • Frequent reports of false closures or detours due to incomplete routing logic.

Adding these U-turns and gaps officially would enhance navigation accuracy, reduce manual editing errors, and provide a much better user experience — especially for long-distance and commercial drivers who heavily rely on Maps for real-time directions.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts in maintaining and improving Google Maps. I hope this suggestion can be considered for improving highway routing across India.

Warm regards,
