Yesterday I noticed that suddenly the number of my visible reviews dropped from 1,284 to 1,280 (meaning 6 reviews were hidden). And then this morning I further noted that the number of visible reviews again suddenly dropped to 1,975 (down by another 5). This definitely has nothing to do with normal AI filter of old reviews. This shall be caused by another system issue. And some possibly caused by the sudden removal of some places from Google Maps for no discernable reason (I note one place I visited in the UK was removed).

Even so, i think it may be abnormal to remove nearly 10 places from the map over night. Either some issue caused this or there are some other issues not related to place removal.
New news! After a few hours, now another 4 visible reviews are gone! Now the total number of my visible reviews drops to 1,271. @DeniGu This is a serious issue. May you help to inform the team?
Thanks for the suggestion. One problem is, with over a thousand reviews, it’s hard for me identify which places are removed suddenly. I can only identify one place in the UK which I recently reviewed being removed suddenly, with no discernible reason.
The situation with the sudden drop in visible reviews is definitely concerning, especially given the scale with over a thousand reviews. It might be tough to identify all the affected reviews, but you’ve already noted one removal in the UK @ivanos
I recommend reporting this to Google Maps Support, detailing the significant drops, and mentioning the challenge in tracking all changes due to your large number of reviews.
Also, consider keeping better records of your reviews moving forward to monitor any future changes.

Right. If Google Maps keeps cracking down like this, then may be it’s necessary to start to keep track of all of my reviews posted afterwards. But that would sound a bit sad actually, for such a flawed app/service provided Google. And then tbh, even I keep track of all my reviews posted, who would bother to go back and check one by one the 1000+ reviews?
After updating my googlemaps app, I noticed how approximately 17 of my recent contributions have gone missing, I’ve investigated and I can still see the photos but the reviews are gone. I’m not sure what’s going on, these are all authentic reviews that I’ve spent drafting and most of them are at least over 500 character count. That said, can you still see the photos of you missing reviews?
New news! After adding one review yesterday, now another 7 visible reviews are gone. In two days more than 20 of my visible reviews are gone. @DeniGu @SholaIB

Another issue is after I log in to my profile I can’t see all my reviews post and content now. This is a problem reported by others on the board other two days too. So I can’t “see” the situation of my hiding reviews (while tbh it’s also hard to identity those hidden reviews)
I have the same issue. Lost 1000 points in reviews and review type counts in my profile. Also overnight. Even doing new legit, visible, not hidden reviews did not solve it. One day I might get a few back to then disappear again. For instance I had over 300 in “Madrid”, suddenly it dropped to 277. Stayed like that for like a month (even though I made around 15 new ones). A few days ago it went slightly back up to 284. Yesterday went back down to 280. And sth similar happens with al my categories. Funny thing is that for me the total review number hasn’t changed since then. I myself have not noticed any of my personal reviews or recommendation going missing, but I have noticed for my clients’ their number counts have discrepancies.
First, we’ve manually counted reviews on Googel Maps and all fo the reviews are there, but the number shown on maps looks as if reviews are missing. Furthurmore, when looking at the review count in search in the knowledge panel, the total count number is different from the total count number in search.
There is definitely some type of issue int heir system, but so far it looks as though all the reviews are there, just not the correct total counts.
