I have travelled through an 8 kilo meters stretch via Bus and have attempted to mark down few shops which i could mark while I passing by. Im now living in southern part of India, a state called Kerala. I have marked new 8 shops and all were successfully created and that too the approval were within seconds gone live. I hope this is how the Google map algorithm works, you might want pass through that location altitude or longitude or whatever that is, that actually gives the blue dot most accurate and can submit the new place request without fail. Have any of you experienced the same?
@anishmbait I have also already added some places that I noticed were new when I was driving by, but was unable to add at that moment as I was the one driving the car.
I am fortunate to live in an area where StreetView is generally available, so usually I then use a combination of Google maps satellite images and StreetView images to determine the exact location of the new point of interest.

Interesting question. I think it is easier and more precise to get off the bus when adding new businesses. Then you can also add some high quality photos.
With many existing places it is always easier to figure out the excate location. To the left of this other place and a bit closer to the one to the right. Also if there is Google Street view available that can help you a lot in pin pointing the exact location.

The core question that you have asked is if having been to the site increases the likelihood of your edit being accepted.
This is not a factor that is considered. You should, though, to only add places which you have personal knowledge.
@Flash thanks for your suggestion. this is a village, and not everybody got access to mobile phones. Whenever I visit my home town, i see things and mark those in google map. Here we don’t have any dependency on the google map nor have access to private taxi like Uber that’s dependent on maps. Basis your suggestion, i can confirm 80% of India will remain stranded on google map without roads, schools, hospitals, etc. I have thorough knowledge on local roads, hospitals, schools in here so when i visit here my home town once a year, i check places and mark and also check the business where i observe as closed as closed Google map. I assure you that, I may discontinue this practice until google map gets some popularity and acess to it in here. Thanks
@anishmbait , visiting the place and seeing that a business exists means that you now have personal knowledge of it, and that it’s perfectly acceptable to add it.
What one must avoid is adding features based on the reports of others or based on copying other sources such as other maps.
What you have done when adding these features is most definitely beneficial for the local residents, the business owners, and visitors to the area.
