In this summer, I visited Akita Prefecture“秋田県” and took some photographs of cascade and waterfall around Mt. Choka“鳥海山”.
Mt. Chokai“鳥海山” is an active volcano with an altitude of 2,236m that spans Yamagata”山形県” and Akita“秋田県” Prefectures. Since Mt. Chokai“鳥海山” is an active volcano, columnar joints ”柱状節理” can be seen in many places around it.
In the morning of September 19, I visited Naso’s white waterfall “奈曽の白滝” which is located in the middle stream of Naso river“奈曽川”.
This waterfall was designated as a National Places of Scenic Beauty in 1932.
There is a free parking area”奈曽の白滝無料駐車場” near the Akita prefectural road No.131, and I walked 10 minutes to the waterfall. When I got down the stairs and arrived downstream of the waterfall, there was a magnificent view of the majestic waterfall flowing down the 26m high columnar joints ”柱状節理” cliff.
If you have a interest in cascade and waterfall of Japan, I recommend you to visit this waterfall.
