Streetview is behaving strange in the last months.
It starts adding auto connections that I can’t delete (they are completely useless)
Some photis are visible in StreetView and Google Maps on my phone and laptop, bur they are not visible from another devices.
Is there anyone knowing how to fix this?
I’ve trided to clear StreetView cache and data. I’ve unistalled StreetView, then installed again. I have the last version available on my android 8.1 phone.
Should you be not able to access the new Street View trusted Help Center, please let us know, and we will tag a Street View Moderator for granting the access to your profile.
Regarding the Auto Connect mode, this depends of your setting in the App. However, autoconnect will be removed soon in the new version of Street View App. Actually, if you want to use this functionality, you have to return to old version. Just tap on your avatar and click on “return to old version”. In there, the functionality will be available, but the complete switch will be made soon. The actual indication is that it will happen “on the first half of 2021”
As @ErmesT already provided a valid answer to your query, I will accept his comments as a solution. This means that if someone else has a similar question, the information can be found easier. Please make sure to check the Announcements that @ErmesT mentioned to get familiar with the new changes. If there is some issue with the access, don’t hesitate to get back to me.
It’s better, my photos stay where I put them !
but I’m still getting the odd crazy auto connections, even I have it turned off in the settings.
I have not tried going back to an even eariler version of the app.
Street View contains a variety of troubles, and new troubles continue to occur every day.
But I love Street View, so I know those troubles, avoid them, and tell the Street View team the details of those troubles every day to help them solve them.
So I want to know more specifically about your case.
About your Q1. “It starts adding auto connections that I can’t delete (they are completely useless)”
What are the means by which you tried to disconnect the photo?
And why couldn’t it be deleted?
Is it because the constellation screen cannot be displayed? Did the delete menu not exist?
Is it because even if you delete it, it will be modestly rotten against your intention?
About your Q2. “Some photos are visible in StreetView and Google Maps on my phone and laptop, but they are not visible from other devices.”
I want to know the URL of that photo.
And how did you upload the photo?
What kind of work have you done on that photo so far?
My question above is an example.
I expect you to describe in more detail the situation of the trouble you are facing.
You were aware of the transition period, October 2019.
That was just after the Street View Summit 2019 in London, when AI-based automatic image processing was generally introduced.
The damage to Street View images due to the transition was enormous. And the current situation is that it is still not operating normally.
There are people who use Google Maps with malicious intent that cannot be imagined by those who are doing “normal” activities like us.
I understand that the goal was to eliminate it.
In addition, dealing with the laws of each country will be complicated.
However, it is unfortunate that the damage caused by not being able to use Street View correctly has reached us.
In July of last year, the leader of the SV moderator team stated that SV systems are working correctly according to the system specifications that the photo was connected even if the automatic connection was turned off, not intended to the user’s intention.
