For about a month now, the Street View app has not been working properly. Since this is the only way that we as Local Guides can upload and work on our 360 photos, this is a big deal. The problem: when in the Move and Connect Photos screen, the compass strip (which we use to align the photo with true North) moves in the OPPOSITE direction than it should. Then, when reviewing the photo afterward, the small navigation arrows near the bottom of the image (that the end user would use to navigate between linked photos) are drastically misaligned (about 90 degrees off from where they should be).
Personally, I haven’t experienced this problem (yet). The only way I could think of is to uninstall and then reinstall the SV app. Hopefully, it will work.
@LucioV the OP @blue_gray will not be able to see the post you linked as they’re not in the SVtp program so don’t have access to that closed board.
Thank you for your suggestions for a short-term workaround! Since I’m not getting paid to contribute these photos, I obviously want something simple and free, and up until a few weeks ago, that solution was the Street View app. downgrading sounds like the best option for the time being - I will look into that.
Is there a way for those of us outside the system to know when the problem is fixed and it’s “safe” to upgrade to the latest version again?
When attempting to move and connect photos to build a mini tour I can not get any photos to appear above the compass. Hence I can’t submit the direction of the connecting photo. Anyone? Both my iPad and iPhone have same issue.
After what seems like 18 months of no updates to the streview App we get two updates within a couple of months… HOWEVER Google still haven’t fixed this issue… this seems to be affecting a lot of the users and completely reduces the functionality of the app. Why are google not concerned with resolving this issue? Until the recent updates I thought that Google approach was to slowly and quietly mothball the app… but the update gave me hope, but it seems like its false hope… GOOGLE? Whats the plan here?
It’s absolutely shocking that this is not fixed after 2 years!! Is there anyone from google even looking at the posts? Unless you have large amounts of cash, how on earth do you connect photos properly? Isn’t it about time we have a web app to do it anyway, it’s incredibly clumsy on a mobile device, I’m using bluestacks android emulator on win10 but it still does not work. unbelievable!!
