The other day, I was walking by the BIWTA Terminal and I saw a man selling something by the road what looked like stones. There was a small crowd surrounding him.
When inquired further, I learnt that he was selling some sort of medicine. He collects, what looks like some sort of a stingray,
which he refers to as “sea crab” with venoms, from fishing boats from deep sea.
He collects the venom from each and prepares some type of a medicine (looks loke oil extract) which is supposed to be effective remedies of different kinds of pains, acid reflux etc.
He has fullfaith on his medicine and people can be heard to have paims healed by using these sort of medicines. His and his family’s livelihood is entirely depended on this.
