Street food extravaganza in Mumbai

If you really want to try something authentic or traditional, I suggest you go for street food rather than going to some fancy restaurant and trying out fusion and delicate meal. Street food is where the heart and soul of that particular dish you will find. I am not against the fancy restaurant where you do find a somewhat similar dish, it’s just that the street food is authentic and the origin of the dish.

Today we will journey to a small suburb in Mumbai know as Mulund which lies in the north-eastern part of Mumbai before we begin let me tell you why Mulund is an ideal place to explore Mumbai’s street food. well, you see Mulund has a crowd which comprises vegetarian meal in their lifestyle and for such crowd you will find the options get less when you start preparing meals at your home as compared to the one who devours meat and seafood. so to balance it out these people go out for a lil snack time around the suburb and to their advantage and to dismiss their hunger pangs the street food vendors in Mulund are competing with each other neck to neck offering the people dishes which you might not even hear of till date for eg: “ICE-BHEL”.

its begins with Lallan ka Pav-Bhaji which is at the station road one of the best pav bhaji you will find in the entire Bombay, followed by a very well know Dahi puri walla stall ,(Babloo Dahi Puri) which is like 100 meters away from the pav bhaji stall must try Dahi Puri, post which you should definitely try the iconic Ice-bhel at the station road after which you come near to the Kalidas hall and try out Masala vada pav which is Foodporn in itself after which you come down to SMPR school and try out Kolapuri dosa here with butter which will make you a kid again and you will be asking for more. once done with this, you come to arrive at Ram Uday hotel and order for Masala Pepsi which is better than most of the mocktail you will find in fancy restaurants and bar. once done with all this now comes the dessert part for that you arrive at Ganesh Gowda road and there you will find a pan-walla get a meetha pan (Sweet Beetle leaves delicacy) from him and you are done.

remember before you go out to explore the place get one more partner along with you so that you can cover up all the area and also do not order 2 portions of the same dish as you need to cover up and experience a lot. I am attaching a few photos (not professional) for our reference which will give u little idea of what the blog is about.

Happy Hogging.
