Hello LGs,
This is in response to the challenge of #streetart by @MathanVibranarayan.
I like this challenge. Being an avid art lover, I always promote the street art, sculptures, old monuments, and statues to be restored, which, in response, support the small local artisans.
Here are my entries:
These are captured at the famous places in their respective cities as mentioned. Lodhi Colony is specifically made open to the world artists to come and make it as beautiful as possible and showcase the dying street art.
Lavasa, Pune and Kala Ghoda Chowk, Fort, Mumbai are also famous for the art festivals and workshops. In Lavasa, they promoted the artists to showcase their respective art through paintings, mini sculptures at the riverfront pathway, etc.
These are the landmark locations. I need not say anything; the world knows about one of the historical landmarks of Mumbai, Flora Fountain, and the Mahishasura Statue at Shree Chamundeshwari Devi Temple, Mysore. Also, share one of the nice sculptures at IGI Airport, Delhi. I personally liked it.
This is specifically from a nook near Haus Khas Fort; the nook is the showcase of creativity. I had written a post on this.
Finally, this is from a narrow lane of a society nearby our colony in Pune. The corporation had a campaign for local artisans to come forward and paint the dead or bare walls and enhance the look and feel of some of the dead facades of the city.
I have always believed that nurturing the street art will support many artisans. It is one of the hidden niches of supporting local businesses.
I hope it suffices for your challenge. @MathanVibranarayan.
Cheers!
