Google Maps has been a great platform for travel enthusiasts like me. Ever since i started using this platform, the outstanding part has been on the feature for reviews and photo/video sharing in the platform. This feature allows people like me to read reviews, go through the photos/videos and then decide on:
-what to expect,
-what not to miss,
-what to consider,
-how to plan the travel,
-(even) how much expenses might the travel require, etc.
But, as soon as i started using this feature, i got to see major missing stuff. ie, there are not enough reviews about places in Nepal. Some posts were made by friend and families of related places that questioned honesty of the reviews. And most of all many places were missing out. But it also made me happy to learn that this feature is completely community driven and i too can contribute to this.
Eversince, with a mindset to provide true, unbiased, and informative information about the places, i too joined ‘Google Local Guide’ feature of Google Maps and then started sharing reviews, photos and even answering the questions with pieces of information i could provide with my best knowledge and experience of the places i visit. I could see how people viewed my informations and that small information at times creating impacts!
At this moment, i have been active in this platform sharing information of places i visit, knowing that someday, somewhere, someone is going to decide his/her travel plan based on my reviews. And this motivates me to travel more, explore more and most of all, intrigues me to collect more information about places i visit so that when i get back home and have spare time, i can add up to the platform helping out like-minded travels across the globe!!
(Ps, this is my 1st Connect post. partially for the fulfillment of a requirement for “Connect Live 2019” event. Do stay in touch for more blog i am intending to share in coming days)
