“Chuveirinho do Cerrado”: Paepalanthus
The site is the largest site of ruiniform quartzite rock formations in Brazil. The Stone City was described in 1871 by the priest and naturalist physician François Henry Trigant des Genettes, who lived for some time in Pirenópolis and, at the time, named the place the “Lost City of the Pyrenees”.
In a letter to Emperor Dom Pedro II he describes the place as a city, with walls, streets and squares, temples, theaters, palaces, for example. But there is no conclusive study to indicate that any civilization could have actually occupied the site. The “city” is located in the Serra de São Gonçalo region, between Cocalzinho de Goiás and Pirenópolis (Goiás State, Brazil).

Thank you. I loved the place. Amazing view, unforgettable sunrise and stones. It’s located at a region that is known as Brazilian savanna, width a lot of beautiful flowers and plants.
