Stoissengraben, Austria

Hello community.
In this post I want you to show the beauty of my country Austria with a special location I enjoy in my free time in summer. It’s called “Stoissengraben” and is located in Saalfelden, Austria.

On the picture above you see a stack of stones I’ve made there and I’m pretty sure, as it is named different in various dialects of Austria, you have special word for this in your language. I’m curious to hear (read) your word in the comments.

So long, this is my first post where I made a showcase for a location / picture, so don’t be too rude to me if I’ve done something wrong.
Cheers!

Hi @236 welcome! Nice picture! In Italy we call these pile of rocks “ometti”, but are more like pyramids than columns, and we use it mainly to keep people on tracks

This sculpture is build for relaxation purpose only, @LucioV . To keep people on tracks, we have colored marks on big stones, trees or other things which are difficult to move. Mostly with a number written in the mark, like a road number; it marks an hiking-track.

Hello @236 Your photo is very nice. I posted my first post on photography yesterday. Yes Austria is beautiful, many years ago my sister married an Austrian and lives in Baden, not far from Vienna, which is also a lovely city. Some years ago I also visited Salzburg, beautiful. I am Orla and I am from, Dublin, IRELAND

Hey @Eire27 ! Thank you for your comment. I was in Baden once or twice, just remembering the casino there.
Salzburg is also nice, I lived there for a few years; I know the city very good, maybe I should take some pictures there the next time I have a day off.

Hi @236 The casino :grinning: yes photos from Salzburg would be nice, the mountains are beautiful and I went to, Mozart’s House ( long time ago) I visited Baden where she lived a couple of times… Sadly a couple of years ago my sister passed away she went to Austria aged 20 years until 50 years and was longer in Austria then her home, Ireland. So she is buried in Austria and her 5 children and now 2 grandchildren were born and live in Austria. This is why Austria is so special to me:innocent:

@Eire27 this is nice and sad to read at the same time. I wish you all the best.
