Stanton Moor Cork Stone

I visited Stanton Moor in England this week. The area is quite popular as there are a few ancient stone circle sites there.

I did visit the stone circle and film a short video, but I still have some work to do on that. While at the moor, I climbed the Cork Stone. This stone is quite popular as it is like a beacon for the land.

There is graffiti on the back of the stone from the 1800s, and in the early 19th century, they put metal handles on the front so people could climb up to the top of the stone, so I did just that.

It was probably a bad idea to climb the stone as I had been hiking for a few hours and already had a torn muscle in my shoulder, but I love being outdoors and finding new places and old historical sites.

Another very good contribution, LG @WattoPhotos .

The video also is appealing.

Can I request you to kindly add a few more photos & a little more details?

I’m from India and don’t know where this is… Please.

Thank you my friend. This is part of the Peak District which is like a nature type reserve in England it is an amazing area with a lot of land and wild animals I would go there everyday if I could but it is a long drive from the city.
