St. Patrick's Day in Dublin

Last week, I had a work trip to Dublin and I decided to stay on for the weekend as it was St. Patrick’s Day and I was in IRELAND. Anyway, I wanted to share a few photos with you from my day.

I watched the parade from the corner of O’Connell Bridge, which was not too far from the start of the parade. Here’s me on the bridge where I stood on the corner, but the police asked us to step down as it was right over the river.

The parade was set to start 12:15pm from Parnell Square, just down the road from where I was but unfortunately, it took a bit of time for it to make its way to me on the bridge, so I was freezing a bit with my bright green hat until the grand marshall from Game of Thrones came by in his car:

Everyone was really excited for the Grand Marshall, then the sponsor float came by, followed by the police on horses:

Then there were loads of marching bands and other police officers marching through, including dogs:

I wound up staying at the parade for about thirty minutes or so, but honestly, realized it was very similar to other parades and I wasn’t hanging out with locals, which is OK, as I was glad for the experience. It was, however, time to warm up and have a fun, more local experience, so I headed over to a pub to watch the Ireland v England rugby game. It was my first time and was amazing! I’ll leave you with this photo of me supporting Ireland, of course. When in…Dublin!

Finally, I leave you with this list I created of fun places to visit in Dublin.

Sláinte and thanks for the hospitality, Dublin!

Hi @TraciC ,

That is great. Thanks for sharing your pictures and experience.

I would have loved joining you for the Rugby match. It must have been a very good time as it was a proper communion with Irish.

See you around

I love sharing my experiences, so thanks for reading, @Julien44 ! The rugby match was quite thrilling. I learned you do not talk during the kick.

@TraciC

I didn’t know either. I have learnt something new. It could help if one day I go there as I will go for sure to watch a match in a pub.

The problem is that it must be hard for chatty people!

Saludos Farid
