Sri padha(adam’s peak) is a 2,243 m (7,359 ft) tall mountain located in central Sri lanka . Also one of the sacred places in sri lanka this mountain has a unique shape. Because of that shape, it can be seen from the sea too. I have attach some photos ,taken from near colombo.(kesbewa town) it is so amazing to see this mountain when sunrises behind the mountain range
It certainly stands out @Shakilashen . Very interesting! Why is it called Adam’s peak?
Well, it is a quite big story. According to Sri lanka’s great chronicle Mahawansa, Budhdha had visited three times sri lanka and last time he traveled to this mountain with an invitation of deity "sumanasaman " and left his foot print at the top of the mountain . Then buddhists call this mountain as sri padha (sacred foot print)
Hindus call this mountain as Sivan Adi Padham because they believe the god shiva left his foot print at the top of the mountain
Muslims believe that it is the foot print of “Adam” where he stood after being expelled from the paradise .

There ara lot of history . Simply this mountain is a paradise . It a shape of a pyramid and it is shadow like a pyramid . There is a season to hike this mountain between december full moon and may full moon. There ara three main routes to hike this mountain , hatton road , kuruwita road and rathnapura road .
