To me, Sri Lankan cuisine is a must-have if I found while traveling. Sri Lankan food is not for the faint-hearted; the fiery curries, sweet caramelized onion in seeni sambal and sour lime pickle all have dominant, powerful flavors that startle awake senses dulled by the daily city life. Dishes from this island-country are known for their intricacy and many thinks they are quite similar to South Indian food but Sri Lankan cuisine continues to carve out its distinct niche.
