I visited this temple in Chennai today. From Adyar it’s an hour travel to Chintadripet where this temple is located.
Devoted to Lord Vishnu, in conversation with the priest, he shared the following.
This temple is 1000 years old.
From a snake pit, the belief is Lord Vishnu arised.
He is seen with Sri Adhilakshmi Thayar His consort.
Sri Ramanujar stayed for a day in this temple and did pooja.
Ekadasi festival is very grandly celebrated here.
There is a ruin statue of Azhwar present, unfortunately name is not known.
Located at Arunachalam street, where Lord Vishnu is seen with a flute this temple is tagged as one of the ancient temple of Chennai.
The history and legends surrounding it are truly remarkable. It’s wonderful to learn about the temple’s rich heritage and its association with Sri Ramanujar.
