The Brahma Temple in Pushkar is an opportunity to soak in spirituality and also indulge in shopping for the best of Rajasthani goodies.
This is one of the very few Brahma temples in India.
According to the Hindu philosophy and faith, there are 3 supreme beings - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiv.
Shiv is worshipped in idol form or as the Shivling.
Vishnu is worshipped in incarnations or Avatars like Ram, Krishna.
There are a total of 10 avatars, and Buddha is also considered one of them.
Brahma is not worshipped in any form. So there are almost no temples.
An exception is the one in Pushkar.
I visited the temple last year.
Here is the main entrance, and photography beyond this point is not permitted.
There are not many steps, and there was plenty of shade from the Banayan trees there was no crowd when I visited here last December.
The market of Pushkar is world-famous, and tourists and shoppers from all over the world visit here each year.
From jewelry to costumes, and food items to camel rides, the market of the Pushkar Brahma temple has something to offer for shoppers of all ages.
There are several lanes in the market, each dedicated to separate goods like handicraft lane, food street, jewelry lane, utensils lane, women’s clothing lane, and so on.
After the shopping and feasting are done, one can take an amazing Camel ride.
