Spice, and all

To my fellow local guides, greetings from Anamika Somera, in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN), South Africa! I just recently attained level 6 (drum roll fades out) and am loving every moment of being a part of the Google family. I love sharing my new found places in and around my home town as well as areas out of the KZN area.

Most travellers are familiar with Durban, which is a city in KZN and as much as this where the fun starts, the journey can continue to most of the other little cities. Set on the eastern shorelines of South Africa, Durban is noted for its all year round summer weather. The city hosts a variety of cultural diversities and traditions and an environment where love and laughter are the spice of life…speaking of spices…Durban happens to have the largest number of residents of Indian descent, making it a haven for the best Indian cuisine in the country and possibly on the continent…one of our famous not to be missed treats is the Durban Bunny chow…Also known as a tourist attraction with its rich heritage, this Kingdom of the Zulu city boasts blue flag beaches, world-class hotels and a host of activities that will cater for anyone with a laid back itinerary to the one that expects an adrenalin pumping adventure of a lifetime….whichever way you look at it, Durban is a city that will leave you breathless and I am here to promote all that Durban and KZN can offer you, the traveller. Thank you for making me a part of this wonderful venture.
