As local guider in Argentina, I like to share my thoughts about the places I go, specially bars and restaurants. And even when this is not the only topic I usually give my opinions about, they are really my favorite’s contributions because as a consumer, I hate when I go to a place that looks great and ends up being a disappointment.
When I go to a place, I evaluate everything, from the option in the menu until how clean is the toilette. The reason behind this, is because I want the rest of the tourist or local visitor to have the better experience possible when they go to those places.
The reality is that in Argentina going out is not cheap, It can be as expensive as any country in Europe, so the purpose of me giving them a mark, sharing pictures or posting my opinion, is to help the rest to maximize their stay in that City.
At the same time, my contributions have the final goal of giving the owners of these places a lesson about the things they are doing wrong, and showing them that when they abuse people, there are consequences, and one of them is a poor mark in Google Maps. But, if they do things right, they also know that they are going to get a great mark and opinion, at least from me.
One other thing that I like about being a Google Guider is that I usually based my comments considering the context. For instance, if I am going to a really cheap hotel, I won’t consider small problems as a conditioner to give them a mark, as I know what to expect from the place, based on the price, location, and type of region, even the country, province or state make a place be good or bad, depending on the context.
So I basically enjoy the fact that other people are taking advantage of my contributions to have a better experience when they visit different places.
Last but not least, I also enjoy adding or contributing with schedules which are not published, as it is as easier as asking when you are there, and I really use this feature…
So, I really love to be the “avenging” guy!
