Spell Checker Not working after this Modification!

Hi Moderators @Ivi_Ge & @ErmesT ,

  1. This is the second time this issues are repeating:

a. The Header Menu is repeated. (probably the Old with New?)

b. The ‘Menu Spell’ Checker Marks all words as red!!!??? (hope it is clear)

  1. The Firefox browser used to work fine with it’s native Spell Checker; now after the Header Menu modification came in, the spell checker is not working?

I feel embrassed to write this to you; but, I think it is important to bring a solution, at the earliest for the benfit of all in this forum.

Thanks for your attention & for a speedy solution.
Regards

Thank you for the head up, and for tagging me about this issue @TravellerG

Be assured that the issue is known, as it has been reported more than 24 hours ago, and for sure Google is already working on it.

As this issue already happened in the past, I feel confident that this time the software guys already know what they need to fix.

You are welcome @Ivi_Ge

@TravellerG , I have one more question for you:

The spellcheck embedded on the text formatting toolbox is working fine for me

I suspect some conflict between different language settings (Computer / Browser / Connect).

In my case, I am keeping English as First language for all of them, to avoid any conflict. What about you?

It is very embrassing to face questions from our junior LGs about such mistakes, dear @C_T

Thanks for your response, dear @Ivi_Ge ;

Kindly pardon me; to me, a simple mistake is taking this long time to find a solution will create concern & reduce confidence in our platform - this is my felling, along with many of our co LGs.

With regards

In english English it is si not nt coret…

All words, right or wrong, gets underlined

Hope, thi is clear

Thanks for your attention.

At this point of time too, the problem is not solved.

Hello dear @ErmesT ,

“…We are considering carefully every issue of the community…” Thanks!!!

“…Please note that I have removed the solution given by you, as your reply is not the solution…” sorry, it is by mistake.

Kinldy forgive me…

In such Plat forms “Guiding” makes more conducive environment than “Warrnings” (“…use the solution flag carefully…” it is not needed) … mistakes can happen to you & me! We respect your knowledge!

Sorry being frank.

I do apologise for my wrong interpretation of your action, @TravellerG

Probably I wrongly interpreted this post (How do I mark comments as solutions), supposing that you were able to remove by yourself a solution given by mistake.

Let me take this opportunity to show you how to fix a solution given by mistake:

Just press the three blue dots on the reply that is wrongly accepted as a solution, and select “Not The Solution”. The author of the post, and the Moderators, have the capacity to give, and remove, solutions given to a reply

Hello @TravellerG ,

I would like to inform you that we are still trying to fix the editor on our reply page and related to the auto correct, it should be working fine now.

We will give you an update once, we have further information related to the editor.

Thanks for your update dear friend, Moderator @AngieYC

Yes, to a large extend, the problem is solved, thanks to all those who helped (contributed).

To me, this is the first time I am getting a pro-active ‘update’ from LG Connect, other than the ‘regret’ messages by respected TraciC, in Idea Board.

Still, I would humbly request you to inform the concerned developers, that the problem is not fully solved. The word “topic” is OK; but ‘topic’ is marked red…

Kindly see the screen shot

====================

Sorry being late, dear @ErmesT ,

Thanks for your kind response…

May be my explanation was not full… I felt it…

The MISTAKE (marking as Solution) happened UNKNOWINGLY… (I never felt the need of revoking it)

sincerely

Oh I see @TravellerG

That’s interesting, as I receive an email when one of my post, or a post that I follow, have a reply marked as a solution. Well, not a big issue, everything has been fixed on the solution side.

Topic ‘topic’ “TOPIV” tipic typic TOPIC

Let’s talk a minute about spellcheck: as you may see on my screenshot, the word topic is not underlined in red. Why?

Also, as you can see on the screenshot, the spellcheck command in Connect still missing (This is what @AngieYC was telling you with “we are still trying to fix the editor”)

The “spellcheck” that is checking the correct spell of your text is the one on your browser. For some reason, due probably to an update of something in Connect, the body area of the post (this area) was no more identified as a text area, so your browser wasn’t able to correctly execute the check. Now this function is working again so, if you have some wrong check, please tell your browser to add the word on his dictionary.

In both Chrome and Firefox, simply double-click on the word with the wrong spellcheck then right-click and select “add to dictionary”. It will fix your wrong check in a second.

Here below the setting pop-up for Chrome

Hope this can definitely clarify this subject

Hi @TravellerG

This part is related to another subject, already reporter on your post here

The issue is not completely fixed, Google is working on it, and will let us know when everything will be OK

The menu on Idea Exchange was reported too, one week ago, and they are working on it too
