Specialty coffee in Tokyo-some secrete places

I am passionate about coffee roasting and used to practice coffee roasting Fuji Discovery machines.

In this article, I would love to share some of the specialty coffee cafes I had visited while living in Tokyo with you. For the list you can visit this Tokyo Speciality Coffee List.

In Japan, third wave coffee is a big heat these days. Even the traditional coffee roastering master Taguchi’s who owns Cafe Bach , needs to train his students the new way of roasting coffee. Its not just about bringing not the aroma to wake up coffee drinkers but also allow you to appriciate the sensational of fruitiness, after taste of the coffee origins from the beans.

Last year I visited one of his students shop Hina coffee and the story of the owner was very inspiring. He was a school headmasters who worked in Tokyo for most of his career but decided to open his own coffee shop back his hometown in late 50s. Now his shop only serves speciality coffee roasted and handcrafted by himself.

I also found there was a new Blue Bottle shop open at Meguro Ekiema Hotel.
Some are my private collection place like the Fuji for coffee bean roasting. Also the ex-store manager in Fuji who opened her own store called Maruca coffee.
Enjoy! And if you have more suggestions of specialty coffees in Tokyo, do share with us!
