Today I am surprise yet happy when opening Google Indonesia’s front page has featured doodle of NH Dini! Our well-known writer of all time.
29th February appears only once every four years and this date happens to be NH Dini’s birthday.
Featuring doodle of her surely a paying tribute to what she has contributed and accomplished to Indonesia’s literacy nowadays. Many Indonesia’s famous writers both seniors and young age are inspired by her writings.
Born as the youngest in a humble modest family, NH Dini has given profound interests on writing poems and short story since on 3rd grade of Primary School. She lost her father when she studied Junior High school and this has led uncertainty of the family’s livelihood. Despite of that, this didn’t stop her to pursue her passion in writing. She began sending her poems to the local magazines and national radio broadcast RRI (Radio Republik Indonesia).
NH Dini marries French diplomat Yves Coffin for about 24 years before divorcing. Together, they have 2 child and one of them was Pierre-Louis Padang Coffin one of the director from animation Despicable Me 2.
Sadly NH Dini passed away on 4th December 2018, aged 82, on a car crash at Tembalang highway, Semarang, Central Java. If not, then this would be her 84th birthday
