Here is my entry to @HiroyukiTakisawa 's initiative of monthly topic. As his theme for March 2020 is “Delicious Seafood”, I’m presenting the food famous of my country. I’m presenting here “South Indian Thali”, which is not a proper seafood (I never had seafood). “Thali” means plate in which multiple dishes are served together.
South Indian Thali
Food in this plate is native to southern region of India, but nowadays people across all Indian states are loving it. Though I don’t know about all the items in the plate, I can tell you only about rice, vegetable curry, papad, mixed vegetable and curd.
Here I would take the help from @Gurukrishnapriya mam, who I think is the appropriate person to give proper description of all the dishes. Mam, please tell us about this thali. I know you are having loads of posts to write about, so any information (detailed or short) would be fine. Also, you should write one post for this monthly topic too (I hope you will take out the time).
Hello, @Tushar18
Thank you for introducing this. I’m able to enjoy this as well:-)
I like such a dish, Thali. The thought seems similar to the Japanese style set menu meal with a variety of side dishes.
Recently, I reintroduced and looked back about #Monthlytopichere. Through this proposal, I’m happy to know various dishes like Thali that I have never seen. Thank you for joining!
@Tushar18 Thali is a complete meal and being a foodie I love to try different cuisines (veg), Thali is great to know about the different preparation (so we can try a 3-4 varieties at once) made at different locations.
Thank you very much @MukulR brother … I was waiting for your response and here it was …
Yes dear, there were lot of items and ideally sufficient for a single person. This thali we can have in lunch or dinner. It is a complete meal package.
You are absolutely correct. This was the first time I tried South Indian thali and it was really amazing. I should have tried it before too. Thali meal is different across different states of India, which shows a perfect example of diversity.
