Absolutely one of the best and affordable phone cameras out there. Only afaik 2 newer models came out with ZEISS lenses but both are high -end $1000+.

I bought this phone a little while after I moved from the Netherlands to Thailand - Bangkok as it’s one of the last with a 3,5" plug but mostly for the camera which is the only pitfall for this very affordable high end phone.

I should have gotten the hint that you never see anyone selling any cases or other peripherals for Sony phones. :nerd_face:

They don’t stand the warm humid climate very well. Get insanely hot, do this very quickly (20 minutes of video calling) and the battery drains super fast. Most of the times I walk around with a battery pack to get through the day.

The photo editor is semi-okay, but I usually miss either the Samsung one or use external editors.

Again the camera is gorgeous but it’s not for you if living in Thailand.

Small update; went to an official Sony center and they reluctantly admitted the overheating in warm countries was a known problem and as long as the phone kept working it would not fall under any warranty as nothing is actually broken…

My phone is getting worse. Audio and video are now often out of synch when recording, video calls won’t last long as it overheats randomly after 10-20 minutes.

Looking into buying a new phone now and will write of this one as my first expensive bad buy in Thailand :melting_face:
