Lot of people everyday visit Machu Picchu, and of course they do because is one of the wonder in the world. In the way to go Machupicchu you need to through the Andeas and is impossible get surprised for those big mountains around the Sacred Valley. There is a town called Urubamba and near to that town is a peace of paradise which is not cheap but the view of the mountains from that point is wonderful. I’m talking about Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. If you have enough time to spend in Cusco, I recomend to move the itinerary and spend one day in the Sacred Valley, if you don’t have to much to invest in a good hotel, there are Hostels you can stay for a reasonable price. Between the lot of excursions which some hotels offer you, I recommend the mountain walking of you can rent a bike or a horse to make the tour more special.
