It’s not always necessary to be always on the forefront to help others, sometimes even a small deed can lead to a bigger help for someone in need in ways not possibly imaginable. Every little gesture counts. A few months ago, i went up to doctor, outside the chamber there was a chemist shop which was obviously not popular enough in the locality. The medicine shop was run by an indigent native. He was not even accustomed to use a smartphone decently. He was not aware of google maps and how he could have advertised himself and marked himself there.
I made him understood about the things he could do and how it can be of use to him. Initially he was reluctant to do anything of that sort to put himself up on internet but after understanding all the pros and cons, he finally agreed. I told him how to mark himself on the maps and also asked if i could put him up there for others to see. I took his phone number and some pictures and posted it on google maps.
A few weeks after when my post got approved, i went to him to get my medicines back, i asked him what kind of response is he getting or even if there is difference in the responses he got. He told me that he is getting really positive response and there is increase in number of people coming to shop. He also told me that because of the phone number provided, one time he got a call from a lady who was travelling in train and the train had a stoppage in dhanbad for 2 mins, she was in need of those medicines urgently, so he went to the railway junction, coordinated with her and gave her the medicines she required. That lady was so thankful to him and so was he, to me.
So this was one of the small incident which had helped so many people because of a small help i could have done to someone through google maps and local guide.
